Top WordPress Plugins: Interview with Adrienne Dupree Episode 6:1
Today's post is a podcast interview on WordPress Plugins with internet marketer, Adrienne Dupree. Adrienne is an online entrepreneur specializing in helping those who want to leave the corporate behind and launch an online business. Adrienne can be found online at Leave the Corporate World Behind. Adrienne is a technical expert and computer programmer who previously worked in the corporate world. She recently left the corporate world behind to work full-time on her internet business. Adrienne has also created a training course with Connie Ragen Green on the Top 20 Plugins for Your WordPress web site. During the interview we talked about several of the recommendations that Adrienne makes in the course.
Summary of Podcast
One of the most important aspects of building an online business is to have a website. Your website is the platform on the internet that you call home. We recommend a WordPress website. It is easy to create. It is also easy to use. It has become the industry standard. Along with the WordPress website, you will also need plugins to enhance the functionality of the site. These plugins will help you save time and make you money.
On this episode Adrienne shares her expertise on WordPress plug-ins. Having the right plugins to enhance your WordPress web site can make your business run much better. Knowing how to use plugins is an important part of being an internet entrepreneur. It is also important to know why to use plug-ins. Plugins are often a mystery when you first start out on line.
This program helps you select the ones that are best to protect your website. Adrienne also shares valuable information about which plug-ins to use to help you analyze your web site's data. I am a particular fan of Google Analytics. This free plugin gives you excellent information about who is visiting your site. It also tells you which content is most popular. A tool like Google Analytics can help you fine tune your content marketing strategy.
Read this recent post: Take the Mystery out of WordPress Plugins for additional information on some of the WordPress Plugins recommended by Adrienne in the interview.
For training on how to choose and use WordPress Plugins for your business, we recommend the training course that Adrienne Dupree created with Connie Ragen Green.

Creating Valuable Content: 3 Steps to Increase the Benefits to Your Clients
Creating Valuable Content: 3 Steps to Increase the Benefits to Your Clients
Creating valuable content is essential to your success. Content marketing can be quite lonely if nobody reads what you write! Are you the only one reading your blog posts and your email messages. Well, it may be time to change your strategy. You may need to get to know your audience better. What problems can you solve for them? Creating valuable content and products that provide those solutions in a unique way that is your style will earn you a greater audience. You have to provide your audience with content that is easy to understand and valuable, but uniquely yours! Remember that value is always from the point of view of your audience and clients.
I. Content Should Be Easy to Understand
Whether your content is a blog post, information product, or podcast it should be easy to understand. If your product is in writing, it should also be easy to read. A few key ways of making your writing easy to read and understand are to:
- Use one main theme per content piece
- Use subheadings to break up your points
- Use simple formatting like bullet points, numbers, and short paragraph
II. Content Should Be Conversational
When you are creating your content, remember to use your personal and unique voice. Write content as if you were talking to a trusted client with whom you have developed a deep relationship. Write and talk like you are having a conversation with a peer or a really good friend. To accomplish this goal, that means you will not be using industry jargon. You will also clearly explain any new concepts that you introduce.
III. Content Should Focus on the Needs of Your Clients
When you sit down to create any product, whether in writing, video, or audio, ask yourself one important question: “How is this of benefit to my client?” You need to be able to answer the question: “Why would or should they pay attention to this?” If the piece of content does not add value, don’t publish it. Publishing content that does not add value, detracts from your value
Conclusion/Call to Action
Remember that creating valuable content is essential to your success. When you create any content it should (1) be easy to read, (2) conversational, and (3) focus on the needs of your clients. As you prepare product that meets this criteria, also remember to share personal stories and examples in your content. You will connect much better with your audience when you have some transparency and authenticity. Your unique voice and style should shine through in all that you do.

Developing Your Content Plan
Developing Your Content Plan
Now that you have decided to produce content for your ideal audience, what is your plan? If you have a topic that you love, and know how you plan to publish your content, then you’re ready to begin developing your content plan.
Will you publish blog posts or produce a podcast? Will you send out email marketing? Perhaps you plan to produce a combination of all the content that I have listed. That's what I do.
Your content plan will help you stay organized, focused on your goals, and productive.
As your business grows it can be difficult to manage and track all of your content – it adds up quickly. A content plan will help you stay on top of everything so you not only don’t miss anything. You’re also able to maximize your content for the best results. Let us help you with developing your content plan at My Biz Dream Team.
(1) What Is a Content Plan?
A content plan is quite simply a detailed outline of (1) what you’re going to publish, (2) the goal for the content, and (3) when you’re going to publish it.
Your plan may also include:
* Links to include in the content
* Creation notes – Who is creating the content and what do they need? For example, if you hire a ghost writer to create your blog posts.
* Deadlines – When do you need to have topic research completed? When do you want the content uploaded and scheduled on your blog? When do you need to get the graphics from your designer for your report?
* Analytics and Tracking – How will you measure success?
In short, your content plan includes any and all relevant information about your content. There are a few key questions you’ll want to answer before you create your plan.
(2) How to Organize Your Content Plan
Organization – What’s the best format for your content plan? For example, do you work better with pencil and paper? If so, then you can create a written version of your content plan. Prefer digital planning tools? Try an online calendar or content management system.
Length – How far in advance do you want to plan your content? Consider planning at least a month in advance. It’s often better to plan for three months so that you can create a more streamlined approach. However, for some people that can feel like too much. For us, we find planning one month in advance sufficient.
Schedule – When will you review your content plan? This often depends on how you approach creating content. If you create a month’s worth of content in one or two days, then you may only review your plan on a monthly basis. If you create content weekly, then you’ll probably want to review your plan more often.
(3) Conclusion/Call to Action
Begin pulling your topic ideas and notes into a content plan. Decide how to best organize your information. Decide (1) how often you want to publish content, (2) what types of content you want to begin with, and (3) how you’re going to create your content.

Content Marketing for Entrepreneurs: What’s Your Goal?
Content Marketing for Entrepreneurs: What's Your Goal?
Content marketing for entrepreneurs is key to building a successful business. As an entrepreneur, you must be sure that the content that you create is doing the job.
The question is, how will it build your business? What’s the goal for your content? When you’re creating your content strategy you want to keep a few things in mind.
- You want to make sure that your content supports your long-term vision and mission.
- You want to make sure that your content puts your audience first. What value are you providing and how are you helping?
- You want to make sure each piece of content supports a larger goal.
Let’s explore a few of the different goals you may have for your content.
Content Marketing Establishes Credibility, Authority, and Trust
First, your content should position you as the trusted expert in your niche. By providing value and creating content that benefits your audience and helps them solve a key problem, you earn their trust. They’ll be more likely to return to your site, buy products and services, and recommend you to a friend.
Content Marketing Builds Your List
Second, the content that you put in your email is another type of marketing that you should embrace. You can use this type of content to help build your email list. Create outstanding content that motivates readers to want more. Create an opt-in offer that motivates prospects to sign up for your email list.
Content Marketing Builds Awareness and Branding
Third, your content marketing can spread to a large audience and help build awareness for you and your business offerings. Content can also enhance your brand personality and brand voice to help strengthen recognition.
Content Marketing Generates Sales
Fourth, your content marketing should generate sales for you. Customer conversion is often a focal point of any content marketing strategy. You can use your content to (1) convert prospects to customers; (2) promote affiliate programs; or (3) drive traffic to a sales page on your website.
Conclusion
Content marketing has many goals. Content marketing can be used to:
(1) establish your credibility;
(2) build your list;
(3) build awareness and branding;
(4) generate sales.
This is just a short list of goals. You can use content marketing to promote conversations and engagement with your audience. You can use it to drive organic search engine traffic, and to educate your customer. So start to think about the goals of your content marketing.

Selling Information Products On the Internet
Selling Information Products On the Internet
Selling information products is a great way to leverage the power of the internet to earn passive income. As you know, selling information products is not a new idea. People have been selling information products (books) for hundreds of years. The internet has now caused an explosion of information products to be released. People want knowledge. People want their problems solved. Selling information products on the internet is a lucrative business. In this article we share tips on how you can get started earning passive income selling information products on the internet.
Your Knowledge is Power.
The knowledge and experience that you have gained over the years can be powerful tool. With the right direction and guidance you could harness your ingenuity to help others. Now is your time to share your valuable knowledge and expertise.
We began making money with information products about four years ago. We found that writing and selling a book was a perfect way to become a recognized authority. But remember, your information product does not have to be a full-length book. We advise our clients at My Biz Dream Team to consider selling information products to generate income. Our two most recent information products: Special Report and Training Guide: The Podcasting Power Playbook and Special Report and Training Guide: The Ultimate Guide to Building Your Business Dream Team are great examples of using personal experience and expertise to create information products.
Selling information products is a perfect way to add a passive stream of revenue to your business. You create your product once. You then sell it repeatedly through your marketing strategies. Each product that you create is a business asset.
What is an Information Product?
An information product is a piece of content that provides valuable information on a particular topic. This type of product is usually educational in nature. Information products often come in the form of a book, report, audio, video, or graphic. Each of these items is an information product in its own right. There is no standard size for an information product. Usually the product addresses an issue or problem in a clear, concise, and creative way.
Examples of Information Products
Here are some of the most popular and well-known, types of information products.
(1) Ebook or digital book – This is the most well known type of information product on the internet. They are simple. They are also easy to create. They are typically the least expensive information products to create and sell. You can create an Ebook as a PDF or as a Kindle book. You can find our book on Kindle: The Book On Investing-Creating the Life of Your Dreams.
(2) Reports and Manuals – These types of information products are often targeted specifically toward a certain segment, problem, or topic. A manual or report is often shorter than an ebook. It is usually technical in nature.
(3) Audio Products – This type of information product is usually a recording. The recording is either delivered on a physical CD or digitally in MP3 format. An audio product is great for interviews. Your buyer can listen to the interview anytime. We have a free audio podcast program My Biz Dream Team: Opportunity Wednesday Training Series. You can subscribe to it on ITunes or on our website.
(4) Video Products – Video products work well for tutorial types of information. Teleseminars, slideshows, and other visual events or activities are also other examples of video products. One idea for a video product is to show people how to install a WordPress plugin.
(5) Seminars/Webinars/Tele-class – You could also conduct a webinar or tele-class on your topic. Then you sell the digital recording along with a digital transcript of the call or a checklist. That is a quick and easy way to create an information product.
Put yourself in the position to start earning money on line by taking a class that gives you step-by-step instructions. We recommend Connie Ragen Green’s Really Simple Content Marketing. We took the course a few months ago. Start earning money this year with the knowledge that she shares with you. Get it today at a special introductory price.
Conclusion/Call to Action
Your knowledge and expertise can be the basis for selling valuable information products on the internet. You can choose from ebooks, reports and manuals, video recordings, audio recordings, and seminars or webinars to create a product. Information products can generate passive income for you. They also serve the audience who want and need the benefits of your experience and knowledge to improve their lives.

Affiliate Marketing: Building Your Business Dream Team
Affiliate Marketing: Building Your Business Dream Team
Affiliate marketing is a great way to earn income as an on-line entrepreneur. With affiliate marketing you have a partner/team member who pays you a commission to recommend his products. This is a great stream of income. By mastering a few strategies for affiliate marketing you can quickly build (1) business income and (2) business team members. Here are three strategies for effective affiliate marketing.
-
1. Recommend Only What You Love
In affiliate marketing, you should recommend only those products and services that you have bought, used, and found helpful. You are much more credible in promoting a product if you really believe in it. It helps when you are bragging about someone’s product that you have actual experiences and results. I love bragging about Connie Ragen Green’s course on Affiliate Marketing. I have taken the course, read her books, and implemented her strategies in my business. Listen in as I interview Connie Ragen Green about how she became the “Queen of Affiliate Marketing.”
2. Recommend Digital Products and Services
Most affiliate marketing involves promoting digital products, services, or courses. That's basically what we do. Most of our affiliate marketing is done through either Nanacast or Clickbank. Nanacast and Clickbank are digital platforms where entrepreneurs showcase their digital products. We have accounts on both. You may also want to become an affiliate with Amazon. As an Amazon affiliate you gain access to the many digital and physical products available on that site. It is a thrill to earn an income based on your recommendations!
3. Get to Know Your Business Partners
In affiliate marketing you need to get to know the people behind the products that you recommend. These people are important team members. You should try to establish relationships with them. These relationships can lead to other business opportunities. You can establish relationships with them by commenting on posts and engaging in community forums. Attending live events is a great way to meet them. I know that you want to be an on-line entrepreneur! Sometimes, however, you have to leave the comfort of your computer. We attend several live events each year. We find live events helpful. The live events are helpful not only for the content. The events are helpful because of the personal connections that we make. We get a much better sense of the person’s character and personality. You can become a raving fan when you know someone personally. We first met Connie Ragen Green at a live event in Toronto, Canada. We later spent more time with her at live events in London, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles. Now we are raving fans for her products and services.
Conclusion/Call to Action
As you can see, affiliate marketing can be a great way to build your business dream team. Just remember to: (1) recommend only what you love; (2) recommend digital product and services using the large digital platforms; and (3) get to know the people whose products you are recommending by attending live events. Your relationships with your on-line business partners can lead you to achieving uncommon results in your business and in your life.

Determination: 3 – Part Strategy for Success
Determination: 3 – Part Strategy for Success
Determination is an important characteristic of a successful and prosperous entrepreneur or small business owner.
Determination is defined as, “firmness of purpose; resolve.” As an entrepreneur or small business owner your determination is tested daily.
When your client does not show up for an appointment you wonder if it is it really worth it. If your assistant forgets to give you an important message you wonder if one more thing could possibly go wrong!
But to be successful, you must show determination and remain firm in your desire for your business.
This post discusses three key strategies that Dexter and I, and other successful entrepreneurs find to be helpful in maintaining our determination to succeed and prosper.
1. Remember Your Why
Determination can wither without a strong enough reason to continue. As an entrepreneur or small business owner you must remind yourself of why are you in business. You need to go beyond the surface reason: To make money!
There are easier ways to make money than starting a business. So dig deep and remember that vision you had for your business. Remember the passion that you had for your clients that you wanted to serve. Remember the legacy that you wanted to leave for your family. When your determination starts to falter, you need to remember your WHY! Your WHY will give you the courage, strength, and determination to continue.
2. Learn from Your Mistakes
You will need determination when you fail to deliver a product on time or your meeting just did not go well.
Now you can’t quit, but rather learn from what went wrong. A successful business owner does not quit when things don’t quite right. You figure out what went wrong, adjust, and then adapt.
Your ability to think, be flexible, and resilient will serve you in the long run. You have to keep moving.
I remember missing the deadline to our editor for our first book. We were devastated because we had committed to having it done in 10 weeks. Instead, it took us 6 months. We were determined not to give up. We had some technical difficulty with the recording device, made the correction, and completed the book. We were overjoyed at the accomplishment.
If we had lost our determination, we would have missed the opportunity to share our strategies with hundreds of other entrepreneurs. Our success was right around the corner.
3. Focus on What is Really Important
Your determination may falter when the bills begin to pile up and yet you see no income.
You begin to wonder if the sacrifices in time, money, self-esteem are worth it. After all you have been successful in other areas of life. Why doesn’t this seem to be working?
Your self-image is on the line! I can understand!
That is when you have to dig deep within yourself and focus on what is most important right now!
Take one little step on a key priority to gain momentum. Then another and another!
Keep moving ahead no matter what. Make a phone call. Write one paragraph. Delegate a task to your team.
Get something done right now! You will eventually develop those habits of determination that will serve to make you a successful entrepreneur.
Conclusion
As you can see, determination is a key trait of a successful and prosperous entrepreneur.
This trait that can be developed by (1) remembering why you are in business; (2) learning from your mistakes; and (3) focusing on what is really important.
Sometimes everything seems to go wrong and you are tempted to quit.
But remember, your success could be right around the corner. So remember to take action each day on your business.
By following these three strategies you can develop the habits of determination that will propel your success and prosperity.

3 Strategies for Effective Time Management
“Until we can manage time, we can manage nothing else.”
Peter Drucker
3 Strategies for Effective Time Management
Here are 3 strategies for effective time management to help you address this pressing problem and meet your chosen objectives. To begin, ask yourself, “How am I spending my time?” As an entrepreneur or small business owner are you keeping track of how you use each hour of the day? Are you tracking your time like you keep track of how you spend money or how many steps you take during the day? Are you focusing on the Activities, Conversations, and Thoughts (ACTs) that produce results for your business?
1.Track and Assess How You Are Currently Using your Time
Use a diary or scheduler/calendar to record all your Activities, Conversations, and Thoughts (ACTs) for a week and any everything else that you do. This allows you to determine what you are doing right now to manage your time. A review of how you are currently managing time will help you determine whether you are wasting time, i.e., not addressing priorities or are you spending time on priority matters. This diary will be very enlightening. You can use it to help eliminate certain activities, consolidate other activities, and help schedule essential tasks
2. Make Appointments with Yourself
Schedule specific appointments with yourself to do those essential business tasks. Just like you schedule outside appointments, do the same for the tasks that produce results in your business. So you must schedule time for the Activities, Conversations, and Thoughts (ACTs) that are important for your success. As business guru Tom Peters has noted over the years that time is your strategic weapon. You must manage time wisely to remain competitive in a fast moving business environment.
3. Plan for Tomorrow at the End of Today
Take 45 minutes at the end of every day to plan for the next day. Those 45 minutes are crucial for making sure that you have scheduled time for high priority Activities, Conversations, and Thoughts (ACTs). Planning for the next day allows you to free your mind at night of all the worry and clutter of thinking about tomorrow. Be sure to strategically consider when you have the highest energy. Plan to tackle the most difficult tasks during that time. This is one of the most effective ways to manage your time.
Some gurus suggest that you plan for each day at the beginning of the day. We prefer to do this time management step at the end of the previous day, so that in the morning we are ready to go with our plan in hand.
Conclusion
By now you can see that time management for entrepreneurs and small business owners can be accomplished using three tips that keep you focused on the Activities, Conversations, and Thoughts (ACTs) that produce results for your business. Remember to (1) track and assess how you are currently managing your time; (2) make appointments with yourself in your calendar to address your key Activities, Conversations, and Thoughts (ACTs); and (3) plan for tomorrow at the end of today. Learn to Build Your Business Dream Team
Watch Rescue Impossible, Nightmare Hell!
You can learn important lessons about building a business dream team from watching reality television. Some of our favorite television shows are Kitchen Nightmares, Hell’s Kitchen, Bar Rescue and Hotel Impossible. These shows are so popular because people like us enjoy all the drama. Some of these businesses are on the verge of failure. Then experts like Chef Gordon Ramsay come in and save the day. Although these shows are very entertaining, they also teach us some important lessons on business: You need to work on your business instead of in your business. Otherwise you have a job rather than a business.
Important Business Lessons
Most of the entrepreneurs and business owners on these shows suffer from the typical bad business disease. They try to do everything themselves. On one recent episode of Kitchen Nightmares, the restaurant owner was the manager, the chef, the accountant, the cleaning person, and the host. No wonder, his business was failing! He was trying to do everything and ended up not being good at anything.
The business owner had not learned to delegate! He did not have a team.We had the same problem when we started our business. We quickly learned from our mistakes. Now we have the time and money to enjoy the fruits of our success. For example, we can enjoy eating lunch at Chef Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant in Las Vegas! Our business continues to operate when we are not there because of “The Business Dream Team™” we have put in place.
Build a Business Dream Team
Learning to build a dynamic business dream team is the difference between having your business run on automatic pilot and having your business require you to be there to run it. When we learned the secrets of how to build “The Business Dream Team™” our business took off like a rocket. We can now spend more time on marketing and building our business while enjoying the fruits of our success.
In an effort to help our clients achieve greater levels of success, we decided to create a program to show other business owners how to build a dynamic business dream team. The program is called, “The Ultimate Guide to Building Your Business Dream Team™” .
Conclusion
As you can see, these reality programs can teach an entrepreneur invaluable lessons about the importance of building a business dream team. It is necessary for your success to build a business dream team. Delegating certain tasks not only makes you more productive, it multiplies your success. If want to build a business and not give yourself job, building a business dream team and learning to delegate is essential.
So don’t work in your business, build strong relationships, and learn to delegate to your team. Then you can start to see results, make your business even more successful, and create the life of your dreams!

Delegate to Your Business Dream Team to Multiply Your Success
Delegate to Your Business Dream Team to Multiply Your Success
To multiply your business success, you must learn to delegate to your business dream team. As an entrepreneur or small business owner you may be accustomed to working on your own. You may not recognize that you are the leader and part of a team. But you are! Our research of entrepreneurs has shown that those who understand that they should focus on what they do best and delegate the rest are the most successful. So you must ask yourself, “What do I do best”? “Is this the best use of my time”?
Make a Master List
First, make a master list of all your tasks for your business. List them all out. You may be surprised by the size of the list. Then number each task from one to five depending on how good you are at accomplishing it. Be honest! Your business may be more complicated than you realized. Include the items that you have delegated to your team.
Do Only What You Do Best
Second, you should keep only the tasks that are numbered 4 or above. Those are the items in which you excel. When you are doing those things you are in the zone. Everything is flowing. You then delegate the rest! Find someone else who enjoys and is better at the other items on the list. You may need to hire a virtual assistant or other outside expert if you are working alone.
Let It Go!
Third, you must follow through on your intention to delegate. You must let it go! Sometimes that is the hardest part. You may believe that you are the only one who can do it! After so many years of doing everything, it is difficult to give up control. But the benefits of giving up control are tremendous! Delegation allows you not only greater productivity. Delegation allow you to multiply the span and scope of your business.
Conclusion/Call to Action
As you see, to be successful you should focus on what you do best and delegate the rest! Start with your master list of tasks. Number those tasks from one to five depending on how good you are at doing it. Delegate everything that is 3 or below. That means you may need to hire a virtual assistant or other outside expert. As in most things in business, follow through is important. Once you have determined to delegate a task or function in your business, remember to let it go! You will find that you have multiplied your productivity.
