How to Easily Create Excellent Information Products
How to Easily Create Excellent Information Products
“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore is not an act, but a habit.” Aristotle
Imagine having a process that helps you easily create excellent information products, like your blogs, podcasts, books, and courses. Creating information products from scratch can seem daunting.
When I first began creating information products, it took much too long. But when I broke it down into a 3-step process, it suddenly became a lot easier. This 3-step process is now a habit that allows me to easily create excellent information products. You can do the same thing.
Step 1: Conduct Research
There are a few things you need to research before you even write the first word. Expand your search beyond the internet. Check out books from the library and consult industry experts. Do as much research as possible to make sure you create an excellent product.
· The Market – Most specifically, what are the gaps in the market? What questions are people asking that have not been adequately answered? What are “hot” trends right now in the market that people are focused on?
· Other Products – What questions are already answered? What prices are they charging? What kind of media are they using? What are the main selling points your competitors are using?
· The topic – This is by far the lengthiest and most important part. Do in-depth research on your subject to supplement what you already know. Look for little-known yet useful information.
Step 2: Write an Outline and First Draft
Start by outlining all the things you will cover in your information product. If after outlining it you think that something is missing, do more research to fill in the blanks.
Once you have a solid outline, then start writing. Write as quickly as possible, with little attention to spelling or grammatical errors. The goal is to just write the first draft as quickly as possible.
After you have the first draft finished, then set the draft down and take a break. Leave it aside for a day or two. Work on something completely unrelated to creating your information product.
Step 3: Edit, Review, and Finalize
Look back on your first draft with a critical eye. Look at your work ruthlessly and cut out anything that is not necessary. Add in details that you may have missed the first time. See it from the viewpoint of your customers. Then ask yourself what this person needs to really get the answers they are looking for.
Keep refining your information product until you feel that you have an excellent product you can publish. At that point, give it to a friend or colleague to look over. Take their feedback and make any last-minute improvements.
Conclusion
You can easily create excellent information products by following this 3-step process. Creating an information product can seem like an endless task when you are sitting there staring at a blank page. But once you break it down into research, outline, draft, edit, review and finalize, the process becomes much easier. With some practice, it will quickly become second nature!
Remember to:
· Conduct Research
· Write an Outline and First Draft
· Edit, Review and Finalize

7 Powerful Strategies to Improve Your Business Time Management
7 Powerful Strategies to Improve Your Business Time Management
Imagine having 7 powerful strategies to improve your business time management. How would that change your business? Remember that you cannot really manage time. But you can manage yourself. Everything you do in your business involves actions, conversations, or thoughts (ACTs). Each one of these ACTs can take up your valuable time. I certainly understand the problem of being over committed. Recently I found myself struggling with seven projects. They had been sitting on my desk for weeks. I was feeling overwhelmed. So, I took time to review the time management strategies that have helped me in the past. These strategies are truly self-management skills. By implementing these strategies, I finished those seven projects. Today I am sharing with you 7 powerful strategies to improve your business time management.
1. Categorize Your Priorities
Categorize as “important” the things that only you can do and prioritize them. Creating a 5-year business plan and networking with prospective joint venture partners are just two examples of projects that are “important” priorities. As management guru Peter Drucker said, “until we can manage time, we can manage nothing else.”
2. Delegate to Others.
If a task does not require your personal attention as the business owner, then delegate it on to one of your team members. Delegate as much as possible. This enables you to focus on the money-making tasks. According to Kevin Kruse, author of 15 Secrets Successful People Know About, Secret #1 is: “Time is your most valuable and scarcest resource.” How are you using your most valuable asset?
3. Make Business Appointments with Yourself.
Get a planner or calendar with pages laid out in 15-minute increments. Schedule your tasks for the day, in pencil if possible, to make it easy to change things around. When you physically write things down, they are easier to remember. According to the book 15 Secrets Successful People Know About, highly successful people live life from their calendar. Remember, that if it is not on the calendar, it will not get done. According to Kruse, Secret #3 is: “Work from your calendar, not a do-do-list.”
4. Overestimate the Time Needed to Complete a Task.
If you are unsure of how long a task will take, guess and tack on an extra 15 minutes. Set a stopwatch timer to find out how long it really takes you to finish. When the task comes up again, use the actual time it took to schedule it in your planner.
5. Say “No.”
You said “no” over and over when you were a toddler. As a teenager, you probably thought about saying “no” to your parents’ requests. Then when you had your own children, you told them “no” on many occasions. Therefore, you have had a lot of practice over the years saying “no.” You know how to do this. Get in the habit of saying “no” in your business.
6. Organize Your Desk.
You have heard the saying, “A place for everything and everything in its place.” Keep your desk tools within arm’s reach. Immediately after using an item, put it back in the proper place. Looking for the items you need wastes your time and frustrates you.
7. Focus on One Task at a Time.
Focus on completing one task and achieving one goal at a time. When each item is completed, you will get a feeling of success. Follow up with another success. This will give you a positive mindset, which encourages you to move forward rather than procrastinating. This was the key to finishing my seven projects. I could not work on them simultaneously. I moved them off my desk and worked on each one until completion. It felt like a huge burden had been lifted off my back.
Conclusion
If you need help managing your time, there are many ways to get things under control. Determine where you are wasting time. Then use these seven powerful strategies to improve your business time management.
Remember to:
· Categorize Your Priorities
· Delegate to Others
· Make Business Appointments with Yourself.
· Overestimate the Time Needed to Complete a Task.
· Say No.
· Organize Your Desk.
· Focus on One Task at a Time.

How You Can Make Podcasting Absolutely Enjoyable!
How You Can Make Podcasting Absolutely Enjoyable!
When my mentor suggested that I start podcasting, it seemed like another chore to add to my list of things to do. I understood that podcasting would give me more visibility. I understood that podcasting would give me authority status in my niche. I also understood that podcasting would help me build relationships. That part sounded great. But where would I find time to add one more thing to my business-building repertoire!
So, with great hesitation, I began a weekly podcast about a year ago. As with anything new, I had to learn the ropes. There were a few glitches at first. However, once I established a rhythm for the podcast everything began to flow. It took the right mindset and strategy. Now I absolutely enjoy podcasting.
You can make podcasting absolutely enjoyable, too. Here are a few of the reasons I enjoy podcasting. You may find the same reasons will motivate you to start and consistently make fun, impactful, and useful podcasts.
1. You Can Podcast from Home
First, I can podcast from home. How convenient is that! I wear comfortable clothes, sit in my office, and chat away. I can interact with my tribe without getting on an airplane. I do not have to take time away from the other things in my life
2. You Can Podcast When It is Convenient
Second, I can choose a convenient time and day of week to podcast. I can schedule an interview during the day or night whenever it is most convenient to me and my guest. The scheduling flexibility is one of the key benefits of producing your own podcast.
3. You Can Pick the Topic
Third, I can pick the topic of the podcast. Having the freedom to give voice to the issues that interest me and my tribe is liberating. As an entrepreneur, you get to define the scope of what you offer. Sometimes those choices work out well. Other picks may not be quite as popular. In any case, the choice is yours.
Conclusion
You can make podcasting absolutely enjoyable too! The choice is yours. Will it be a drudge or will it be enjoyable?
Remember,
- You can podcast at home.
- You can podcast when it is convenient.
- You can pick the topic.

How to Easily Start Your Own Awesome Podcast
You can easily start your own awesome podcast by following a few time-proven strategies. When I started podcasting last year, the naysayers thought that I would quit. I thought that I might run out of interesting things to talk about. But after more than 35 episodes, I am still podcasting. I have proven the naysayers to be wrong.
You too can consistently and easily produce a fun, informative, awesome podcast. In this episode of My Biz Dream Team: Opportunity Wednesday Training Series, Dexter and I discuss how to easily start your own podcast that your audience will find valuable.
1. Planning and Preparation
First, it all begins with planning and preparation. Determine who is your target audience. What problems do they have that you plan to address? Dexter and I target people who are looking to leave their 9-5 jobs who want to become online entrepreneurs. Take a few minutes to carefully think about your target audience and get to know them well before you launch your podcast.
2. Develop a Structure for Your Podcast
Second, you must develop a structure for your podcast. Podcasting is not ranting on the air. Plan for an opening, middle, and end. This is a production. You want to script it out, so that everything flows smoothly.
3. Invite Interesting Guests
Third, you must invite interesting quests. Or you can have a co-host like I have on my podcast. Having a mix of voices and interesting topics makes your podcast much more enjoyable for your audience. It is also more fun to you.
Conclusion
You can easily start an awesome podcast by following this advice. With the right planning and preparation, you can have an awesome podcast that grows your authority status and increases your visibility.

How to Avoid Making an Amateur Podcasting Mistake
How to Avoid Making an Amateur Podcasting Mistake
Avoid making an amateur podcasting mistake that could sabotage your program before you begin. Do not be like the thousands of people who start podcasting with passion and enthusiasm, only to lose interest and abandon the project. Here are some of the most common podcasting mistakes that you should avoid if you want to create a fun, successful, and impactful podcast.
Amateur Podcasting Mistake #1: Failing to speak to your target audience
If you are speaking to everyone, then you are speaking to no one. Before you begin, decide who you want to help. What segment of the population would most benefit from what you offer? Then target them with content that speaks to their problems and interests. Be open and authentic to connect with your target audience.
Amateur Podcasting Mistake #2: Failing to script your podcasts
Hopefully you know that podcasting is not about ranting on the air. You must plan what you will say. Give your podcast a structure. You need a beginning, middle and end to your program. At the beginning, you make an introduction, a few warm-up statements, and state the topic of the podcast episode. The middle of the podcast episode will be the key points and content that will help your target audience. Create great content to build your authority status. The end of the program should include a summary, closing statements, and at least one call to action.
Amateur Podcasting Mistake #3: Failing to set a goal for each episode
Every episode of your podcast needs a goal. As you plan and script your podcast, decide what are you trying to achieve with the episode. Do you want more traffic to your web site? Do you want more subscribers for your podcast? It is important to set a specific goal at the outset, so that you can measure your results.
Amateur Podcasting Mistake #4: Failing to make a clear call to action
Every episode of your podcast needs a clear call to action. Once you have set a goal for your podcast, it is easier to craft a clear call to action. Tell your audience what you want them to do after hearing the podcast. For example, your call to action could be:
· “like” on Facebook,
· subscribe to your podcast, or
· take advantage of your offer at a URL.
Amateur Podcasting Mistake #5: Trying to do it all yourself
Do not try to do everything yourself. This will put a lot of pressure on you. It could also bore your listeners. Make a list of people you would love to have on the show as a guest to chat with or to interview. Get advice from someone who has experience with podcasting on how to produce a fun, impactful, and successful podcast.
Conclusion
If want to have a successful, fun, and impactful podcast, avoid making these amateur mistakes:
· Failing to speak to your target audience
· Failing to script your podcast
· Failing to set a goal for your podcasts
· Failing to make a clear call to action
· Trying to do it all yourself.
If you avoid these amateur mistakes, you should soon have a fun, successful, and impactful that you can be proud of.

Absolutely the Best Way to Find a Great Mentor

Absolutely the Best Way to Find a Great Mentor
Finding a great mentor is one of the most important tasks of an entrepreneur. A mentor is a key member of your business team. Despite the importance of this task, many entrepreneurs do not know how to find a great mentor. They often approach this important task with the wrong mindset and wrong strategy. In this episode of My Biz Dream Team: Opportunity Wednesday Training Series we discuss absolutely the best way to find a great mentor.
As I write this blog post, Richard Bolles, the author of the classic “What Color is Your Parachute? A Practical Manual for Job Hunters and Career Changers” has just died. His handy guide has provided inspiration for millions of job hunters and career changers for almost 50 years.
I recall the first time I read the book when I was in college. The dream of becoming an attorney seemed so far away. However, I followed Bolles’ advice, an arranged an informational interview with an attorney in my hometown of Savannah, Georgia. I told him that I wanted to talk to him about law school and being a lawyer. He agreed to meet with me while I was home from college on winter break. That initial information interview reinforced my desire to become an attorney.
This attorney was the first in a long-line of mentors who have helped me guide my career.
In turn, I have mentored several people as throughout their careers. Sometimes the mentoring relationship lasts a few years or only a few months. It always depends on the fit between me and the person seeking mentoring.
In my experience, the mentoring relationships that work best, are those based on mutual respect and assistance. You first build a relationship, then you ask for help. Do not expect a stranger to be your mentor! Be sure that you can offer something of value in return.
As an entrepreneur, you want to find a mentor who is already successful at what you want to do. You want to find someone who can teach you the ropes and help you avoid the traps for the unwary!
Conclusion
In this episode of My Biz Dream Team: Opportunity Training Series Dexter and I share with you absolutely the best way to find a great mentor. Find someone who understands your dream and is willingly to work with you to create a strategic action plan that you can implement.

How to Find Your Inspiration: What is Your Why?

How to Find Your Inspiration: What is Your Why?
To find your inspiration is the first step in achieving the goals that excite you. Only when you know your why will you find the courage and inspiration to start or to grow your business. Having the proper mindset is the key for the determination you will need to succeed. The German philosopher Frederick Nietzsche once said, “He who knows his why can endure any how.”
When you find your inspiration and know your why you will be able: (1) find the courage to take the risks needed to succeed; (2) stay motivated when you face setbacks; and (3) move your life into an entirely new, more challenging and rewarding direction.
When you first decided to start your business, you may have been thinking:
· “I am tired of working in this terrible job.”
· “I need to spend more time with my family.”
· “This job just does not pay enough.”
These thoughts and others go through the mind of many people thinking about starting a business. But you will find, that these reasons will not be enough to sustain your motivation once you start your business.
These primarily negative thoughts will not inspire you:
· To increase your skills;
· To be brave and authentic in your marketing;
· To find the courage to launch a new product or service;
· To make your business thrive.
What is your why? What inspires and motivates you?
Is it Your Passion?
Many business owners are motivated by passion for a topic, a market, or a product. They would spend their entire day talking and learning about it. Whichever type of passion-based business owner you are, learning to harness that passion will help you elevate your business.
Is it Your Lifestyle?
Other business owners are inspired by the desire for the lifestyle that comes from owning their own business. Are you motivated by the freedom of having a lifestyle that allows you to travel or to drive beautiful cars? Whatever your big dream, you knew that you would never make it with your day job. There is nothing wrong with desiring a lifestyle that you find thrilling and fulfilling. Be sure to maintain your integrity and authenticity in pursuit of your dream lifestyle.
Is it Philanthropic?
Many business owners are inspired to go into business so that they can give more to charitable concerns. Are you motivated by a desire to give more to charities at home or abroad? Perhaps you want to have the freedom to volunteer with local hospitals, animal shelter, or churches. If you have a heart for a cause, a philanthropic why can be the motivating cause that elevates your business.
Conclusion
In this episode of My Biz Dream Team: Opportunity Training Series we explored how to find your inspiration by focusing on your why. To find your own why, consider your biggest dreams. What brings joy and a sense of fulfillment into your life!

How to Reach Your Money Goals with Multiple Streams of Income
The first quarter of 2017 is almost over. Are you on track to reach your money goals for 2017? Or are you struggling to make your business profitable? Perhaps it is time to approach your money goals with a different mindset and action plan. This episode of My Biz Dream Team: Opportunity Wednesday Training Series addresses how you can reach your money goals with multiple streams of income.
Develop S.M.A.R.T. Goals
You should begin this process by setting goals that are S.M.A.R.T. Make sure that your goals are:
S: Specific
M: Measurable
A: Attainable
R: Realistic
T: Time-bound
Meaningful goals are essential requirements of business success. With goals, you have (1) a target to aim for; (2) a purpose for being; (3) and a direction to travel. Without goals, you can wander aimlessly and get sidetracked by any new thing that comes along.
Make a Habit Of Tracking Your Income and Spending
Developing good money habits is essential for your success. Otherwise your money habits could sabotage your business success. One very good money habit to start, if you have not already done so, is tracking your income and spending. This means tracking all business and personal expenses.
Develop Multiple Streams of Income
One way to meet your money goals is to develop multiple streams of income. If you are still working, you can start a business on a part-time basis. It is great to have a Plan B. Your job may end unexpectedly. For example, your employer could decide to downsize or re-organize. Or your union may decide to go on strike. Whatever they call it, you are out of your job.
If you have already started your internet-based lifestyle business, you can begin to add multiple streams of income. You want to start with 1 or 2 models and then add more later.
For example, consider the following:
- Affiliate Marketing
- Writing books
- Teaching Classes On-line
- Selling Information Products
- Mentoring
- Selling Products on Amazon
Conclusion
You can reach your money goals by following a few time-proven steps. First, set S.M.A.R.T. goals. Second, begin to make a habit of tracking your income and expenses. Third, develop multiple streams of income.

3 Harmful Money Habits that Sabotage Your Business Success
3 Harmful Money Habits that Sabotage Your Business Success
These three harmful money habits can sabotage your business success. They are certainly blocking your path to prosperity and keeping you broke.
You have an excuse. After all, most of us were not born knowing how to manage money. Your schools certainly did not teach you how to handle money. Like me, most of you had to figure it out along the way. Much of what I figured out was through trial and error as I navigated throughout life.
Your lack of knowledge, mindset issues, and harmful money habits can wreak havoc in your personal finances. They can also ruin your businesses if you are not careful.
This article addresses three harmful money habits that maybe keeping you broke and holding you back from prosperity. I also offer alternative strategies to get you on track.
1. Chasing Each New “Thing” that Comes Along!
The first harmful money habit that you need to kick is chasing each new “thing” that comes along. Do you find yourself buying the newest electronic gadget? Joining the newest, coolest gym in the community? Must you join the latest training program? Do you hire the “hottest new guru?” Somethings are just hard to resist. This is especially true when your friends and colleagues are all jumping on board!
If you are not careful, these new “things” can quickly distract you from your current goals.
Rather than chasing each new “thing” that comes along, try the strategy that I use when tempted. First, think will this new toy or program make me money immediately. If not, add it to your “someday” list. You will get it “someday” later.
2. Failing to Invest in Your Business
The next harmful money habit to kick is failing to invest in your business. As you can see from this harmful money habit, everything is not about overspending. Sometimes spending too little is bad for your business.
You cannot build a high-quality long-term business, by totally relying upon free products. You must learn to trust yourself and invest in your business. You must invest in quality if you want to attract quality clients. High quality investments pay back dividends!
3. Failing to Stop Paying for Things You Are Not Using
The third harmful money habit you need to kick is failing to stop paying for things that you are not using. I know that it can be difficult to unsubscribe from products and services. Sometimes you cannot find the right place to unsubscribe. Many vendors do not make it easy for you.
However, if you want to prosper you must cut unnecessary expenses. Take a few minutes and review the products and services that you use on a regular basis for your business. Then unsubscribe from those services and products that you have not used in the last 90 days. Get rid of those unnecessary monthly fees!
Chasing after each new” thing” (Harmful money habit #1) probably put you in the situation of paying for things that you do not use! (Harmful money habit #3)
Conclusion
This article is about 3 harmful money habits that sabotage your business success. If you want to build a high-quality business, then you must stop:
- Chasing each new “thing” that comes along;
- Failing to invest in your business
- Failing to stop paying for things you are not using
I would love to help you get on track with The Strategic Pathway to Success Program. Let us hear from you!
