3 Tips to Boost Your Daily Productivity

Have you finally come to the realization that you need to boost your daily productivity? If you have come to the point of admitting you have problems with self-discipline and you’re determined to finally overcome this, celebrate this step. It’s a clear indicator that you have reached a significant milestone.

I remember when I reached that milestone. It was eye-opening, because I thought that I was being very productive. However, when I reviewed my actual production it fell short of my goals. I had fallen into the perfectionist trap.

Today I will share with you three tips (including avoiding the perfectionist trap) to help you boost your daily productivity and achieve your daily goals.

1. Avoid the Perfectionist Trap

Do you finally finish a project, but when you start proofing it or testing it, you think of one more way it can be improved? Then you think of another. Then you research another. Before you know it, you’ve practically rewritten or redesigned the beast and you’re scrambling to meet deadlines (your own, or client-driven ones.)

Learn step back and say “STOP! This is done” by deciding in advance to do so. (It’s easier than you think.)

2. Don’t Punish Yourself for Success

If you finish a project early, resist the urge to immediately fill it with another one. That’s like punishing yourself for being super-efficient and leads to stress and burnout – no matter how keen you are on your business.

Instead, reward yourself with a well-earned dose of self-care. Read a book. Watch a movie. Sit in the garden for the afternoon. Get your hair done.

3. Learn to Switch Off

It’s a proven fact that the most burned-out people are those whose mind is always on their business. That’s a paradox for most entrepreneurs, but talk to any top, seven-figure entrepreneur and you’ll find that ninety-nine per cent of this elite category have no trouble shutting the office door at a certain point every day.

And running on empty won’t make you more efficient. It will just undermine the quality of your work and increase stress.

Conclusion

If you are ready to boost your daily productivity, then follow the three tips I have shared with you today.

  1. Avoid the Perfectionist Trap
  2. Don’t Punish Yourself for Success
  3. Learn to Switch Off

Shifting Your Mindset for Prosperity and Success

Shifting Your Mindset for Prosperity and Success

Shifting Your Mindset for Prosperity and Success

Shifting Your Mindset for Prosperity and Success

Shifting your mindset for prosperity and success may sound daunting. However, by practicing a few habits you can begin  transforming your life.

Have you ever wondered what it takes to become a prosperous and successful entrepreneur? Do you wonder what prosperous and successful entrepreneurs do or know that makes them so different from everyone else?

As you know, entrepreneurs are different from everyone else because we get to make the rules we live by. The trouble is, however, that many entrepreneurs still live by rules that others make. These rules often do not work well and keep them from prosperity and success.

Today I want to share with you what I have learned from being in business for several years and from talking to dozens of my colleagues. To become a prosperous and successful entrepreneur I had to learn to enlarge my capacity and change the habits that no longer worked for me. My colleagues had to make the same changes. We had to begin shifting our mindset for prosperity and success.

Here are 7 mindset practices that Dexter and I, and other successful entrepreneurs use to replace those old habits that kept us stuck. Once you begin to practice these new habits, you find yourself shifting your mindset for prosperity and success.

1. Use Affirmations Effectively

To begin shifting your mindset for prosperity and success, learn to use affirmations effectively.

If affirmations have not worked for you in the past, consider the fact that you may be investing your energy and hope into (1) unrealistic ones you do not really believe in or (2) generic affirmations that are too vague and broad-ranging.

The key to making affirmations effective is two-fold:
• Be specific. Take your affirmation from pie-in-the-sky platitude to something you can achieve.
• Make sure you believe in the message.

Anyone can say: “I am a millionaire right now.” But that is not really an affirmation. That is wishful thinking.

On the other hand, telling yourself daily, “I have a millionaire mindset” can be a powerful boost to your confidence and outlook, if you pair it with a plan of action.

2. Change your Perspective

The next habit to develop as you begin shifting your mindset for prosperity and success is to change your perspective.

Are you a “glass-half-empty” person? If so, call yourself on these negative, doom-and-gloom self-messages. Say,“Oops, that’s a glass-half-empty thought. Let’s turn this around and transform this thought into glass-half-full.”

It may feel contrived and your heart may not be in this little exercise at first, if you have been undergoing stress or challenges in your business or personal life. But if you persevere, you will soon discover that deliberately changing glass-half-empty thoughts to glass-half-full ones increases:
• Gratitude
• Empowerment
• Optimism
• Proactivity

Ultimately you will achieve prosperity and success as you develop the habit of changing your perspective!

Reframe Your Negative Thoughts

Reframe Your Negative Thoughts

3. Reframe Negative Thoughts

Shifting your mindset for prosperity and success, involves learning to reframe negative thoughts.

The damage may be done. A negative family environment or significant relationship may have left you with poor self-esteem or poor processing habits. Or perhaps the damage was caused by that toxic company you worked at for twenty years.

But no matter what caused you to adopt an “I’m doomed, I may as well give up” attitude. You can make the decision to change that thinking today.
You can begin to making a mindset shift for prosperity and success.

One successful technique that psychologists use is called “re-framing”. This is how it works:
• Take a negative, habitual thought
• Filter it in an objective manner through the light of reality
• Replace your negative thought with a positive but realistic, corrected version.

You can do this with any type of thought, business or personal. For example, change “I always fail” with, “I am successful. Sometimes I may make mistakes, but I learn from them.”

4. Avoid “All-or-Nothing” Thinking

One highly destructive self-talk is known in psychological circles as “all-or-nothing thinking”. To ensure you do not do it, watch out particularly for the words “always” or “never” in self-talk: For example, “I always fail at everything I do” or “I’ll never learn how to do write sales copy”.

All-or-nothing thinking is just another way of beating yourself up, and strips away both personal power and confidence.

If you catch yourself making an all-or-nothing statement, reframe it instantly to a more realistic, empowering thought.

For example, change your “all-or nothing” thinking to, “Lots of people learn how to write sales copy effectively. I can choose to outsource this. Or say to yourself, “I can just take my time, read instructions more carefully, and keep doing it until I get it right.”

5. Avoid Making Every Setback a Catastrophe

Do you see every setback as a catastrophe? Is every setback that happens the end of the world? Do you say things like “my business is FINISHED” if your computer dies, instead of simply buying another one?

Yes, this is just another form of beating yourself up. Even if you do experience a disaster—for example, a power outage occurs, and you lose a graphics file you’ve been working on for hours—realize that in the large scheme of things, this is frustrating but not really the end of your world. Treat it as a learning experience. Example: “Next time I’ll remember to save that graphic at every step.”

6. Ask Yourself: “Will This Matter in Five Years?”

One of the best ways to train yourself out of doom-oriented thinking is to get into the habit of asking yourself, after each disaster, “Will this matter in five years?”

If the answer is “no, I won’t even remember it”, it’s not worth worrying about.

7. Focus On Serving Others

One of the best ways to begin shifting your mindset for prosperity and success is to start focusing on serving others.

Our worst worries, fear and paralysis behaviors and mindsets occur when we are focused inward, thinking about ourselves.

Instead, focus on serving others. Think about how you are going to help the person who reads your next book. Or focus on how much it will help not just your client but other members of his team when you finish your project on time.

When you are focused on serving others, there is no room for worry.

Conclusion

As you begin shifting your mindset for prosperity and success, you will begin to transform yourself and your business.

Remember that any transformation begins in your mind. See it. Believe it. Then you can achieve it.

Begin to practice these 7 mindset habits to experience prosperity and success in your life.

1. Use Affirmations Effectively
2. Change Your Perspective
3. Re-frame Negative Thoughts
4. Avoid “All or Nothing” Thinking
5. Avoid Making Every Set Back a Catastrophe
6. Ask Yourself: “Will it Matter in Five Years?”
7. Focus on Serving Others

Are You Ready to Break out of the Chains Holding You Back?

Are You Ready to Break Out of the Chains Holding You Back?

Are You Ready to Break Out of the Chains Holding You Back?

Are You Ready to Break out of the Chains Holding You Back?

Are you ready to break out of the chains holding you back from the future you want to create? The chains that I am speaking of are not physical chains. Physical chains can be easily opened with a key in a lock. I am talking about the mental and emotional chains that often keep you trapped.

These mental and emotional chains are keeping you stuck as an employee, rather than the entrepreneur that you hope of becoming. If you want to transform from an employee to an entrepreneur, you must begin to make specific and concrete lifestyle changes.

I understand what it is like to be trapped by the chains of the golden handcuffs of a relatively high-paying job. I felt I could not leave. My livelihood was tied to a job that over time did not give me an opportunity to grow and expand. Like you, I enjoyed my work when I first began. It was thrilling and exciting to travel, interact with the public, and to use my creativity. However, later in my career, the satisfaction I felt from my work was lessened. I knew that had to make a change.

Today I will share with you three key lifestyle changes to take as you ponder the question, ” are you ready to break out of the chains holding you back?”.

 1. Envision a Different Future

Can you envision a different future for yourself?

Once I was able to envision a different future for myself, I began to make plans to leave. I decided to focus on one of the enterprises that Dexter and I had just started. Dexter and I have been serial entrepreneurs for more than thirty years. Therefore, a few years before I retired, I really increased my efforts. I decided to focus on how I could help other professionals like myself, break out of the chains holding them back. I wanted to take what I learned during a successful career that involved public speaking and strategically positioning an organization for a different purpose.

Can you envision a different future for your life? Are you ready to break out of the chains holding you back?

Look for a different pathway for your life. Perhaps you can use your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a unique way and for a different purpose.

2. Change the Stories that you Tell Yourself

During this process of envisioning a different future for myself, I had to change the stories that I told myself. I had to stop saying: “I should be satisfied where I am.”

What stories are you telling yourself?

“I can never be rich.”

“No one will ever want to be my client.”

“I need the security of this job.”

Are to ready to change your mindset? Are you ready to break out of the chains holding you back?

3. Learn New Habits

I had to learn new habits. I began to get up early in the morning before going to work and started writing a business plan.

I began to network with other entrepreneurs to test the possibilities. Networking with other like-minded professionals seeking to serve others by sharing results-oriented strategies has been rewarding. I have learned to develop new ways of presenting myself and showcasing my expertise.

What new habits must you learn, if you are going to break out of the chains holding you back? Must you become more studious because you need additional education? Perhaps you will need to learn how to say “no,” so that you can have more time for what is important to you.

Whatever new habits you must learn, always remember the future you are envisioning and why you are making the change.

Conclusion

As you begin to envision the future you want to create and decide whether you are ready to break out of the chains holding you back, be prepared to make specific and concrete lifestyle changes.

The three lifestyle changes that I suggest are:

1.   Envision a Different Future

2.   Tell Yourself New Stories

3.   Learn New Habits

Each of these lifestyle changes will move you closer to your goal of breaking out of the chains that are holding you back.

How to Develop a Success Mindset Checklist

How to Develop a Success Mindset Checklist

How to Develop a Success Mindset Checklist

How to Develop a Success Mindset Checklist

As an entrepreneur have you ever wondered how to develop a success mindset? Many associates, friends, and clients have often asked me this question. However, before I share my strategies with you, I want to provide some background context for my response.

First, we must address what is a success mindset. In my view, a success mindset is a sincere belief in yourself and your competence. The way that you think and feel about yourself permeates everything that you do.

But you may be wondering, why is it important for an entrepreneur to have a success mindset. I say that having a successful mindset can make the difference between having a successful business and a failed one.

Also, having a success mindset can make all the difference in your personal satisfaction and business success.

Developing a success mindset is the key.

But how do you develop a success mindset?  Here are some strategies that I have used to develop a success mindset, that you can easily implement yourself.

1.     Challenge Yourself

If you might find yourself getting negative about your business, it may be because you are not challenged. If it is just too easy to meet your goals, perhaps your goals are not high enough. Challenge yourself.

2.     Keep Positive Company

When you hang around with negative people their negative attitudes tend to rub off. Your acquaintances might be jealous of you. They may be threatened by your success. Try to keep company with upbeat people whose excitement is contagious.

For more on keeping negative people out of your life, see: Negative People: How to Protect Yourself from Them

If you want to read about the benefits of seeking out positive people see: How to Create a Success Mindset: 3 Simple Steps

3.     Remember Your Why

Keep a list handy of all the reasons you started your business. Look at it whenever you feel overwhelmed or negative. Remind yourself of why you are doing this.

This list might include financial goals, too. Remember why you want to earn that money.

4.     Do not Blame Others

Do not blame others for your failures. Of course, it is not good to beat yourself up over your failures, either.

The healthy way to handle failure is to take responsibility for the failure and learn from it. Think of it as a motivational moment. You can improve and not make the same mistakes again.

5.     Be Bold

Sometimes, you can exhibit a negative mindset by being too cautious. If you always feel the need to have several back-ups plans before taking any risk or venture, it can hold you back. Being sensible about risks is healthy but being overly cautious can paralyze you.

Therefore, be bold in your approach to your business. Dare to be different!

Conclusion/Call to Action

To be a successful entrepreneur you must develop a success mindset. A success mindset can be the difference between a successful business and a failed one.

Here are a few strategies that I have followed to allow be to become a successful lawyer and entrepreneur:

·        Challenge Yourself

·        Keep Positive Company

·        Do not Blame Others

·        Be Bold

Goal Setting for Entrepreneurs

Goal Setting for Entrepreneurs

Goal Setting for Entrepreneurs

Goal Setting for Entrepreneurs

Goal setting for entrepreneurs can often be a tedious and time-consuming chore. Many entrepreneurs have this view of goal-setting because they do not see many positive results from the exercise. Have you ever felt that way? You set goals at the beginning of the year, then you set aside the paper with your written goals, and never achieve any results.

If that sounds like you, then you are in the right place. Today, I want to share with you my approach to goal setting for entrepreneurs that is not tedious or unproductive.

1. What is Goal Setting for Entrepreneurs?

Most business experts will tell you that you need to set S.M.A.R.T. goals. These same gurus will tell you that without setting S.M.A.R.T. goals you will never achieve the business and financial success that you desire.  At one point, I wrote an article advocating S.M.A.R.T. goals.

Now, I am ready to explode when I hear the experts talk about S.M.A.R.T. goals.

I have come to realize from personal experience, that S.M.A.R.T. goals can limit you. The biggest goals that I have achieved have come from setting outrageous goals, not S.M.A.R.T. goals. Just think about what S.M.A.R.T. means: Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Time-bound.

While that looks great on paper—and clearly, it is easy to remember—it does not go far enough for those who want to achieve important things. I agree with the premise that goals should be specific, measurable, and timely. However, I do not agree with the other two premises that goals should be attainable and realistic.

2. Does an “Attainable” “Realistic” Goal Inspire You?

Think about it. Do you want to be stuck with “attainable” and “realistic” goals when what you really dream about is a 3-day workweek, frequent international travel, and enough money to fund a college endowment? It seems clear to me that those safe, S.M.A.R.T. goals are not going to get you there.

In fact, they might even do worse than simply “not get you there.” They may actively hold you back.

Have you ever, set a goal to increase your earnings by 10%? That is often viewed as an “attainable” and “realistic” goal. But did that 10% goal inspire you to work harder? Or did it create a subconscious ceiling on your earning potential that you are unable to break through?

When I was 8 years old and I set the goal of becoming a lawyer. No one would have said my goal was “attainable” or “realistic.” Some would say my goal was outrageous. My goal required an expensive college and law school education. Then I would have to take and pass an expensive and tough bar exam before I received a license to practice law. My parents were not wealthy. I did not know any attorneys. But I had a burning desire to help people who were left out and locked out of full and equal participation in our social, legal, and economic systems. Despite, the seeming appearance of my goals being unrealistic and unattainable, I became a licensed attorney at the age of 25.

3. Goal Setting for the Savvy Entrepreneur

The savvy entrepreneur, rather than focusing on goals that are “attainable” and “realistic” knows that the key to incredible success lies in creating lofty goals that feel out of reach—maybe even UN-attainable. Savvy entrepreneurs do not strive to earn 10% more than last year. They want 50% or even 100% more. The savvy entrepreneur stretches herself. She finds new, and better, ways to do things.

Of course, you cannot simply declare crazy goals and expect to achieve them. However, when you shun the attainable goal for the outrageous goal, you push yourself beyond those self-imposed limits and reach for the stars.

Conclusion/Call to Action

Goal setting for entrepreneurs does not have to be a tedious and worthless exercise. When you learn to set the right kind of goals, you can achieve results far beyond your wildest desires. Remember to set goals that inspire you! You have a much better chance of achieving your goal, if it motivates your heart.

10 Practical Self-Improvement Tips for 2018

10 Practical Self-Improvement Tips for 2018

10 Practical Self-Improvement Tips for 2018

10 Practical Self-Improvement Tips for 2018

The following 10 practical self-improvement tips will help smooth the transition, if you are looking to break old habits and become a better you. Soon you will be creating new habits in no time at all.

Are you ready to improve your well-being and health? Is 2018 the year that you stop fretting about your life? Is this the year that you will take action to make a difference in your life? Will you finally lose those 20 pounds? Is it the year that you will finally have time to be more active in your child’s PTA?

Whatever you want to achieve in 2018 for yourself or for others, you may find that you struggle with the mindset for change and often return to old habits. This year can be different! Try following these 10 practical self-improvement tips for 2018.

1. Make Time for You

While you might associate being a better person with doing more for others, the truth is, you first need to take time for yourself. If you are burnt out and stressed, you will not make a positive contribution to anyone. Taking time out for yourself is not being selfish; it gives you the opportunity to refresh and recharge.

Once you understand that taking time out for yourself is making a positive contribution to others, then it’s time to schedule it. It is important to honor your commitment to yourself when declaring your “me time”. Set aside some time daily. If you are like most of us, this may seem near impossible; but guess what? You can find 15 minutes every day.

If you don’t respect your personal time, no one else will. Take 15 minutes for meditation in the morning or your daily “me time” out on the front porch or the back deck and just listen to nature; read a few pages from a book that uplifts your spirit; drink a cup of coffee or tea! This is your choice!!
Once you have decided on a set amount of time and a set time of day for your “me time,” let everyone know you are not available. This is your time!

2. Choose How You Jump Start Your Day

You can choose to start your day grumpy and irritable or you can choose to start your day being grateful that you were given another chance to enjoy life and to love. The choice is always yours. Choose to wake up declaring out loud a few things you are grateful for and watch how this daily habit changes your day and your life. Choose to read something positive, think something positive and say something positive. Your day will be that much better and you will have done this by your own power. Be intentional! This is your choice!

3. Start a Journal

When you are feeling overwhelmed, grab a journal and write down your feelings – even if they are negative. Then, give it a new spin. For example, you might write, “even though I didn’t get the promotion I wanted, I now know what the process is and what I need to work on to better my chances before I put in for the next promotion. I am exactly where I am supposed to be in this moment and am grateful for the great things to come.” Journaling releases negativity and toxicity from your body, soul and mind. Journaling also resets your mindset. Focus on what really matters in your life!

4. Keep Positive People Close to You, in Your Bubble

Keep positive friends close by and reel them in when you need a boost. Have you ever started your day by tripping over something, losing your car keys, or finding that the squirrels knocked over your garbage? Don’t be ashamed of your bad moods, just take responsibility for them. Rather than getting upset, grab a friend, talk about it, laugh it off, and then let it go. You’ll be glad you did. Keep these positive people in your bubble!

5. Keep Negative People out of Your Bubble

You will never rid yourself of all the negative people in your life. After all, some of them are your employers, co-workers and family members. You can, however, keep them at a distance while enclosing yourself in a more protected Bubble. You don’t have to let their negativity into your space. Make a choice to slowly distance yourself from them and know that their negativity has nothing to do with you; it’s their stuff don’t own it for yourself. Be intentional about who you let in and who you keep at a distance.

6. Choose Your Filters Wisely

If you read negative stories, watch too much news, or get involved in gossip, you will most likely end up with negative thoughts. After all, negative stories are what so much of the media focuses on these days. Intentionally choose what people, books, music, and television you let in. Stop ‘hanging out’ on social networking gossip sites and take responsibility for your own actions. Listen to the right type of music. Uplifting music will change your brain waves and fast music will give you a boost of adrenaline. If you are feeling low, pop on some dance tunes and watch how quickly your toes will begin to tap. Remember, it’s your choice!

7. Take Time to Get Organized

2018 is the year to finally set up a filing system, get a calendar and keep it updated, and throw out your junk. Once the initial work is done, all you have to do is maintain the organized systems. Don’t want to do it yourself? Pay someone else to do it for you.
You can also use an app to help you organize and plan everything today from traveling to paying your bills. When you are on the train commuting to work or waiting in line at the store, you can get things done that would normally have to wait for your lunch hour or day off. Being able to accomplish more during these wait times will give you more free time for yourself.

8. Take Time to Shut Down and Unplug

After you have used technology to get organized, take time off from technology and unplug from your social devices. If you want to be a better you, you need connections – real life connections. You need to see faces and hear voices and so do other people. Take the initiative and plan a real-life coffee date. You’ll make a difference for yourself and for someone else.

How to Quickly Overcome Your Fear of Public Speaking

You can quickly overcome your fear of public speaking by following a few simple strategies. Do your knees start to knock and your throat start to close thinking about public speaking? Do you imagine forgetting everything you planned to say? You can rid yourself of the overwhelming anxiety in the pit of your stomach. These symptoms of the fear of public speaking can be overcome by following the advice on this episode of My Biz Dream Team: Opportunity Wednesday Training Series.

1. Being Nervous vs Being Afraid

I understand your fear of public speaking. My entire professional life as an attorney, seminar presenter, and spokesperson was all about public speaking.

As an entrepreneur, I am often asked to make remarks or speak about my business. Each time I stand up to speak, I am nervous. Being nervous is a good thing. It gives me the edge to do my best.

I do not want to be complacent about the opportunity to influence and persuade my audience. However, being nervous and being afraid are two different emotions.

2. The Solution

To help you overcome the fear of public speaking, I recommend that you what I did. Schedule yourself to speak in public on a regular basis. The more you speak, the less afraid you become. Like swimming, you just need to jump into the water! As you do more public speaking, you become a better public speaker and more confident in your abilities. You will quickly overcome your fear of public speaking after a few months of regular speaking. You realize that you will not forget your prepared remarks. You realize that the audience will not laugh at you. In fact, the audience will support and follow your lead if you provide them valuable information that helps them solve their problems.

3. Implementing the Solution

You can quickly overcome your fear of public speaking by making sure that you speak in public at least once a month. When six weeks passed without making a presentation, I felt rusty and more anxious when I returned to the stage. Make sure that does not happen to you. Make public speaking a habit. There is no better way to position yourself as an authority.

You can find opportunities to speak online or offline. I highly recommend that you start podcast. For example, you can interview guests or discuss issues of concern to your audience.

To receive more in-depth information about the power of podcasting and the power of public speaking see the following blog posts and podcasts.

You may also want to pursue opportunities offline in your local community. Local business associations, libraries, and civic organizations are always looking for speakers. Prepare a speech or presentation on an interesting topic and then schedule yourself to speak. It has been my experience that the best way to quickly overcome the fear of public speaking is to start speaking in public on a regular basis.

Conclusion/Call to Action

Are you ready to quickly overcome the fear of public speaking? If so, schedule yourself to speak regularly. The more frequently you speak the more confident you will become.  You will find that will quickly overcome the fear of public speaking when you begin to speak in public on a regular basis.

How to Make Self Responsibility the Cornerstone of Your Success

How to Make Self Responsibility the Cornerstone of Your Success

“If it is to be, it is up to me”

Acknowledging that you must make self responsibility the cornerstone of your success can be a daunting challenge. But, if you want to achieve extraordinary success in your business and in your life, you must make self responsibility the cornerstone.  It was certainly difficult for me to accept the truth of this concept. I wanted to blame someone else or something else for the deal that I lost or the client I did not get. But once I understood that I controlled my own destiny, I was ready to seize the opportunities that came my way. Remember, “There are no excuses!”

Other People are not Responsible for Your Success

I realize that there may be economic setbacks such as the Great Recession of 2008. Your suppliers may go out of business. Your virtual assistant may decide to quit. Although these circumstances may impact your business and your life, you must realize that they are beyond your control. You can however control how you react to these setbacks. You alone are responsible for the success of your business. Have you planned for these eventualities? Are you taking responsibility to meet the challenges of these circumstances?

Other People Probably are in Worse Circumstances than You

No matter how bad you think you have it, others probably have it even worse. So, stop crying and start taking responsibility for your success.
Here is a simple creed that is worth repeating throughout the day. It is especially helpful when you start to feel sorry for yourself:

“If it is to be, it is up to me.”

These ten simple two-letter words remind you that self responsibility is the cornerstone of success in achieving extraordinary results in your business and in your life.

Be Committed to Your Success

Once you decide to go into business, totally commit to it. There is no holding back. Jump in with both feet! Even more important than getting into business, is getting the business into you. You can indeed love your business and your life.

Make a commitment to yourself that you are going to succeed, no matter what. Remember to go the extra mile to achieve extraordinary success in your business and in your life.

How to Dramatically Increase Your Chance for Outstanding Success

How to Dramatically Increase Your Chance for Outstanding Success

How to Dramatically Increase Your Chance for Outstanding Success

How to Dramatically Increase Your Chance for Outstanding Success

Imagine if you knew the one extra ingredient that would dramatically increase your chance for outstanding success? What a difference it would make in your business, career, and life!  I have discovered from years of experience that the real secret to success lies in your willingness to go the extra mile. It is the extra effort…the extra work that will make the difference.

Wisdom from My 8th Grade English Teacher

I learned this secret many years ago. My 8th grade English teacher, Mrs. Young, told us to always “Go beyond the call of duty.” Her words of admonishment and encouragement have stayed with me over the years.

There are many influencers and gurus who often toot short-cuts and get rich quick schemes. Do not believe them.

Wisdom from Zig Ziglar

Nothing beats “Under promise, over deliver.” As the great salesman Zig Ziglar said, “If you are always willing to do more than what you get paid for, eventually you will be paid for more than you actually do.”

“The Law of Reciprocity”

Robert Cialdini, in his seminal book, Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion explains how when you do something for someone, it sets the stage for them to do something for you in return. Cialdini calls this “The Law of Reciprocity.”

When you go the extra mile for your client, you have set the stage for “The Law of Reciprocity” to start working. “The Law of Reciprocity” does not work for “normal,” “average,” or even “special” service or products.  It takes much more to trigger “The Law of Reciprocity.” You must do something “extraordinary” in today’s highly competitive market to gain an advantage.

Look at What Your Competitors are Doing

Look at what your competitors are doing. Then do something different. Your clients want and deserve something better than what everyone else is doing.  Start doing what your competitors cannot do or are not willing to do.

Get a new perspective on your business and then go the extra mile for your clients. Only then will “The Law of Reciprocity,” create a compelling reason for your client to want to reciprocate.  Dare to be different!

Conclusion/Call to Action

Contrary to what the experts say, there is no short cut to success. If you want to dramatically increase your chance for outstanding success, you must be willing to go the extra mile. It is lonely on that extra mile, but is where you will find the outstanding success that you dreamed of achieving.
